Fifth identical crank forging press ordered

PK 3150 machine to produce aluminum chassis components at OTTO FUCHS KG site in Shenyang, China

Göppingen/Meinerzhagen, August 25, 2021 – OTTO FUCHS KG is producing more and more aluminum chassis components for its customers in China. For this reason, the automotive supplier has now ordered a PK 3150 crank forging press with ServoDirect technology from Schuler for its Shenyang location. This is already the fifth machine of this design for OTTO FUCHS.

"This shows how satisfied our customer is with the crank forging presses," says a delighted Schuler Managing Director Frank Klingemann. "Thanks to the ServoDirect technology and the adjustable slide movement, the number of strokes and the forming speed can be optimally adapted to the part," he explains. "This increases output and improves energy efficiency."

In crank forging presses with ServoDirect technology, several torque motors operate on a main shaft via a step-down gear unit. They are suitable both for wear-free single-stroke operation and for forging in continuous operation. With a press force of 3150 tons, the machine for OTTO FUCHS is the strongest in the series, which starts at 1250 tons.

In addition to automotive manufacturers, OTTO FUCHS, based in Meinerzhagen, also supplies customers in the aerospace and construction industries. Founded in 1910, the limited partnership manufactures not only forgings but also extruded products and rolled rings made of aluminum, magnesium, copper, titanium and nickel alloys. The group, which employs more than 10,000 people worldwide, includes window and door manufacturer Schüco.
